Childhood issues. Many of the problems and difficulties which we experience in our daily life stem from unmet needs in childhood. Perhaps you were emotionally or physically abused and neglected, criticised, judged harshly, or made to feel worthless incompetent or undervalued. Maybe you experienced the loss of a parent or sibling, or disruption to your environment that made you feel insecure. Did your childhood environment lead you to unquestioningly adopt unhelpful negative beliefs about life that are now holding you back? Therapy allows you to explore these issues in a safe environment so that you can understand underlying current issues. You can learn to have compassion for your younger self and let go of harsh self-criticism and self-destructive behaviours. All the therapies I offer, either singly or in combination, can help you live more fully and resourcefully in the present, not ruled by past pain.
